Commercial Flooring
When it comes to putting down any form of floor covering in a business then you need to think about things completely differently to how you would do at home, as the things that you have to take into consideration are completely different. live girls
Firstly whilst you may have a big family and think that you have areas of flooring that could be classed as “High traffic” areas, then think again. In the home environment such high traffic areas such as hallways are often busy areas, but only actually for very short periods of time, where as a hallway in a commercial office will be busy continually throughout the day.
Not only will it have people walking on it constantly, but it will also have to cope with heavy objects such as office furniture or photocopiers sitting on it. Then it will also have to put up with the rigors of moving such things in and out of the office.
Also whilst you may spill the odd cup of coffee on the floor, in a busy office environment this is likely to be a daily occurrence, particularly around vending machines. The same thing applies to food waste, as more and more people now eat lunch at their desks, more food is likely to get spilt on to the floor.
So when it comes to choosing commercial flooring there are a few questions you will need to ask yourself and the flooring manufacturer before making a choice and these are:
Wooden flooring or carpet? Where as once most offices solely had carpet tiles as flooring, now there is a move to high quality wooden flooring as it is easier to keep clean.
Traffic levels? Is the flooring needed for a quiet office, or to go down in very busy hallways?
Is the flooring likely to get liquids spilt on it on a regular basis? This is a serious consideration, and a lot of companies are now switching to hard wood flooring or vinyl flooring around drinks machines, due to high spillage rates.
When are you next planning on replacing the flooring? E.g. how long do you expect the new flooring to last?
Can any damaged flooring be easily replaced, carpet tiles can be, but if a roll of carpet is used, or laminate flooring used, then replacing a damaged or stained section can be very hard to do.
Hopefully these questions will help you when choosing flooring for your business.
